TNT defeats B-Meg in Game 1 of their series

TNT Tropang Texters takes game 1 of their best of seven with a 98-91 win over the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados. Jimmy Alapag led the way for TNT with 20 points spoiling B-Meg's superstar James Yap 36 points. The game was close in the first quarter with B-Meg leading by just one. But things started to heat up for TNT in the 2nd quarter mainly because of Ranidel de Ocampo's 16 2nd quarter points most of it coming from the 3 point area. Though TNT look to take the game wide open in the 2nd half B-Meg just won't quit and just began chipping on the lead of the TNT behind James Yap, even cutting TNT's lead to two 87-89 with just 4 minutes left in the game. But TNT floor general Jimmy Alapag took the game over, especially his dagger 4 point play that practically destroyed any B-Meg hopes to win the game.

I expected this to happen, after all, TNT is up against a depleted B-Meg team. B-Meg is already without its main low post threat in Kerby Raymundo, and their starting center Rafi Reavis add to that Roger Yap who wasn't able to play due to a foot injury. But I gotta give it to B-Meg for really giving it all against a mighty team like TNT who has such a star studded line up and a very deep bench. Game 2 will be on January 5, 2011.

New Look Magic stop Streaking Boston Celtics

A good move perhaps? After all the trading the Orlando Magic has done on its lineup. Maybe we are beginning to see the fruits of those trades. After defeating the league leading San Antonio Spurs the Magic then snaps Bostons 14 winning game streak with a 86-78 win, and they won this one with Howard playing most of the game with foul trouble and scoring only 6 points. The Magic led by Bass 21 points and old reliable Turkoglu with 16 points. Kevin Garnet top scored for Boston with 22 points. After struggling early in the season the Magic decided to change their roster and traded Lewis for Arenas and send Carter, Pietrus and Gortat for Richardson, Turkoglu and Clark.

Miami Heat defeat Lakers behind King James Triple Double

Photobucket

A statement game? maybe too early to tell, but the Miami Heat just showed us today how good they can be by defeating the defending champs 96-80, behind Lebron James triple double 27 point, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Bosh had 24 points and Wade 18 points . I have been waiting for months for this two teams to meet, wanting to see whether the Miami Heat would be a threat to the Lakers. Well if we are to look at this game, well they are. But the Lakers are on the west and Miami being in the East should still overcome Boston whom they have yet to defeat this season, the newly revamp Magic. But still it's nice to see the Miami heat playing this good compared to the early round of the season.
